We had a ward party on Saturday out at Hallandale Beach. I has a big covering where we had lunch, a park for the kids and of course the beach. It was freezing cold though. We were all in pants and jackets. I know that sounds weird because it was 60 degrees out there, but the wind was bone chilling. We had a good time eating, then played some boccie ball. It was red Vs Blue and Paul and I were on the red team. It was 6-1 when blue made a huge come back. then it was 11-8 and all of our parking meters were up. It seemed to be that each team only got one point at a time. Definitely a nail biter...yeah a real crazy game. Last second we pulled through and beat them 12-11. My favorite part of the day was when all the squirrels came around for dessert. Bryant was holding a cookie in his hand, kinda low to the ground. A squirrel thought...easy target. He jumped up and grabbed the cookie. Bryant, startled, screamed,"that's my cookie!" He then chased the squirrel all over the place determined to get it back. It took him a long time to give up. From then on he had a stick in his hand just in case one of those little thief's came close again.

Party number 2 was held at our place. We had several couples over for the super bowl. Steelers Vs Cardinals. Basically ended up with the girls in one room chatting and the boys in another screaming at the screen as if they could hear them. Everyone brought some snacks to share and we had a great time. Once again I wish we got a picture, but at one point in the game all the boys were on their feet with their hands in the air, screaming,"safety, safety!" It was pretty funny. It was almost as if they had planned it. All of them at once like synchronised swimmers, minus the pool, rose from the couch and clasped their hands together over their heads. Even the words were in unison.

6o degrees. I feel so bad for you. We're supposed to be in the mid-40s this week. We're all pretty excited about the prospect of wearing t-shirts. :)
Wah wah wah...cold and Florida can not be put in the same sentence. I miss having superbowl parties like that. They are so much fun. This year I watched it all by myself since Elliott was in the hospital. I was the one all by myself yelling at the screen and then calling Elliott to complain. It is pit-a-ful to get old. I was sad when the Steelers won at the very end.
